QUALCUNO MI PUO CORREGGERE?????
Soave Classico doc 2013 , Lidl Verona, 21 Marzo 2015 @ € 1,79
QUI CHE PREZZO PAGHERA' LIDL ALL'IMBOTTIGLIATORE E LO SFUSO COSA COSTERA' ALL'IMBOTTIGLIATORE ??
CANTINA DI SOAVE E QUELLA DI MONTEFORTE POSSONO DARCI DEI PREZZI DELLO SFUSO SE LORO VENDONO AGLI IMBOTTIGLIATORI??
Lidl Belgio @€ 2,49
@ € 3,00 in Olanda
- Abfüller: V.E.B.. Loc. Colombara,5, IT-37011 Bardolino, Italy

Villa Alberti, Soave, 2012, Italien, 1,59 Euro
£ 3,99 ( duty £ 1,50 = 1,15 ex cellar ??? )
un ottimo Soave Classico a buon prezzo in Polonia

Amarone takes about 5 years to reach the market. Wine grapes are set to drie on straw mats during 4 months, followed by a 3 month fermentation, 3 yeas aging in a barrel and 1 year aging in the bottle.
I was surprised to see this 2011 Amarone in the Lidl store (yes, I search for wine everywhere). My curiosity took the upper hand and I headed home with this 19 eur bottle (which is really cheap for an Amarone).
Tasting confirmed my doubts. This is absolutely no reference for the DOC. While it should be full-bodied, velvety with a sweet touch, this one was all about acidity. Nevertheless, it was worth the try, and it brought back memories of that nice wine bar VinAllegro in Rome, where I tasted my first ‘real’ Amarone :-)

A Sunny Rosso. The Poor Man’s Amarone!

The Poor Man’s Amarone!
Gran Passione Rosso 2013 (Veneto IGT 2013), 14%, €13.99 Karwig Wines .
From the area around Venice, comes this blend of Merlot (60%) and Corvina. Corvina is the principal grape in red Valpolicella wines. The interesting thing here is that the grapes are dried in the sun before pressing (similar to how Amarone is made). This process helps towards a more intense wine and that is the case here. Very Highly Recommended, a very good wine at a lot less than you'd pay for an Amarone.

This wine is composed of 60% Merlot grapes and 40% Corvina, grown on small farms in the Veneto region. Possessing a rich character due in large part to its production in the appassimento method, in which the Corvino grapes are dried in the sun before pressing. It's the same way Amarone is made. This process makes for heightened aromas and flavors, and it's not usually found in wines at this price point. Oak aging adds its own touch of complexity.
This very dark, ruby-colored wine gives off quite the nose - noticeable from across the room. Blackberry and black currant aromas are a delight, a pungent one, topped with notes of chocolate. Deep, dark flavors of berries and prunes define the palate, and the mouthfeel is marked by wonderful acidity and firm tannins. The richness of the wine is remarkable, and it does taste like a cousin to Amarone. It's not priced like it, though - just $15 at Whole Foods.
The Twitter crowd really liked this wine, even before it was sipped. @winefashionista sniffed and tweeted, "Love the nose on the Gran Passione - rose and violets!" @RickGriffin also loved it: "Love the mouth feel of the GrandPassione! Velvety with berries, red stone fruit & a bit of spice which is nice!" @WineHarlots liked the look and the taste of it: "Great packaging... Cherries and leather." @AnotherWineBlog chirped, "OMG the Gran Passione is to die for," while @ClearLakeWine tweeted, "Consensus in this tasting group is that the Gran Passione Rosso is the favorite of the night." It was for me, too - at least my favorite red

METHOD & PRODUCTION
The grapes come from selected vineyards harvested at the beginning of October, to allow the grapes to have increased maturation. Before picking, the vines' cordons are cut, but the grapes are left on the vines, and for up to 15 days the grapes begin to dry naturally on the vine (Appassimento on vine).
The grapes are then carefully hand harvested before being pressed. After fermentation the wine is aged in oak for 3-4 months.
